By Roxanne Rhoads

I honestly love fall. I am such an Autumn child- it is in my nature. I was born on September 21, the last official day of summer on most calendars. I started my life in the fall so it comes as no surprise that to me Autumn feels like a time or rebirth and renewal, new beginnings and celebrations.

I think I love everything about Fall; the cooler air so I can wear my favorite sweater and jeans, bonfires, the beautiful array of colors in the changing leaves, the rich colors of the flowers-dark purples, rich reds, golden yellows, earthy browns, forest greens, and burnt oranges…then there’s the aromas.

The smell of fall is a deep primal scent, to me it is not unappealing-the scent of dying leaves, maple syrup, bonfires and a hint of apple mixed in the cool air then you toss in the aromas of the harvest, food preservation, and baking…my mouth waters just thinking about it. Baked goods, apple cider, donuts, spice cake, pumpkin rolls…yum. And let’s not forget all of the harvest festivals, Fall fun and Halloween parties. There is so much to get excited about in Autumn. It’s a whirlwind of fun before settling into winter’s long, cold embrace.

OK- so maybe there’s one thing I don’t like about Fall- the fact that it leads to winter. I still wouldn’t trade it for living in a tropical climate for anything (of course once winter hits I’m all set to find a sandy beach somewhere warm).

Anyway I am so thrilled that my novella, Eternal Desire,

was able to be released this Fall just in time for Halloween.

Eternal Desire is a paranormal romance set in New Orleans during Halloween.

Now talk about fun, New Orleans treats Halloween almost like a second Mardi Gras-the parties, the Balls, the haunted tours…to be in New Orleans for Halloween would be awesome. See above all else, I love the spookiness of Halloween. I could do Halloween all year long, maybe. I don’t know sometimes too much of a good thing…

Anyway back to Eternal Desire.

Liz Beth, a paranormal researcher, is haunted by a vampire who may or may not be real. She arrives in New Orleans the week of Halloween to search for the elusive vampire of her dreams, Quillon, and instead encounters a handsome stranger, Christien, with whom she begins a passionate affair with.

Soon she is torn between her dream lover and a flesh and blood man, both of whom are a mystery to her. The closer Halloween comes the wilder things get. LizBeth gets closer to the truth about Quillon while Christien has her under his own spell.

Will all be revealed at the Ball or will the masks stay in place?

In New Orleans at Halloween anything is possible.

Eternal Desire is available in e-book format at, and
