CALL ME SIR - 5 Cup Review & CTRR Award

I received a review for Call Me Sir. 5 Cups from Coffee Time Romance and More plus their CTRR Award

Erotic, Contemporary, Light BDSM, D/s, Spanking, M/M, Romance

The night Logan James subbed for the bartender at his club, he had no idea the love of his life would walk through the door, but the moment he saw Joey MacIntire, he wanted him. The only problem? How to initiate someone so young and obviously innocent into Logan's D/s lifestyle. Logan decides to bide his time and wait for Joey to get to know him better.

Joey MacIntire came to the city to find someone to call his own. Logan James embodies everything Joey could ever want in a man, but while he treats Joey kindly, he doesn't seem interested in anything more than friendship. Still, Joey has hope . . . and many late night fantasies. But after a year of waiting for Logan to give him more than a passing glance, Joey finally gives up. He decides to stop wasting his time at Logan's club and try out the new place across town. Dante's Dungeon is a BDSM club, and Joey is totally unprepared for what he sees there and what he discovers about himself.

When Logan discovers Joey's intentions, he decides he's waited long enough. It's time to claim Joey as his own. Things heat up between the two men and they settle into a life of domestic D/s bliss, but there are outside forces at work—forces intent on destroying Joey and Logan's newfound happiness.

REVIEW

Joey MacIntire moved to the city when his family and friends abandoned him when he told them he was gay. He hoped that by moving to the city he would find someone to love him. For a year he has been hanging out at a gay bar called Club Refectory, and he is very attracted to the owner. But so far, the owner seems to only want to be friends.

Logan James is very much in love with Joey, but he is also a Dom and is concerned about how Joey will react to what he expects from a lover. So instead of making Joey his own, he has been trying to give Joey a chance to get to know him first.

When Joey spends yet another night at Club Refectory where not one of the hot guys will dance with him, or talk to him, he decides he is going to try out a new gay club across town called Dante's Dungeon. But Dante's Dungeon is a BDSM club, and full of D/s. When Joey tells his friend the bouncer where he is going, Toby runs up to Logan's office to let him know what his love interest is doing. Logan makes a call to his friend Dante, and asks him to keep an eye on Joey. When Joey meets the same reception at Dante's Dungeon as he did at Club Refectory, he is crushed. However, he feels even worse when he spots Logan in the club sitting with a good looking man at the bar. Desperate to not be seen, he hides out in the bathroom hoping to wait it out until Logan leaves. It does not work out that way though, and instead he ends up meeting up with Logan. While their beginning is rocky, it is not long before they start a relationship, but then their relationship may be in jeopardy when Joey's abusive father arrives in town. What will Joey do regarding his father's demands?

I love the way Ms. Glenn does D/s in this book. She does such a fantastic job of explaining that world and how it works in a real relationship. I just wanted to hug Joey, he has had such a hard time, and it just always amazes me how rotten some parents can be to their kids. Ms. Glenn really gets to the heart of what can happen when families do not accept their gay members, and how hard this can be on the young and gay. I loved Logan and how he just wanted to take care of and love Joey, but also how he loved him enough to give up the D/s lifestyle if it was not something Joey could handle. I'm hoping that there are some other stories later about the secondary characters. Hint, hint, Ms. Glenn! A beautiful story that I am more than happy to recommend, and give my highest rating.

BANGED UP

By Jeanne St. James

Mace Walker can’t wait to get home.

Being buried deep undercover for the past two years, on the most complex case of his career, has torn him down physically and mentally. Now the FBI agent has come home to recover after having his leg badly injured from a gunshot wound. Arriving home late one night, his relief is short-lived as he’s faced with a stranger pointing a gun to his head, acting like he is the one who doesn’t belong there!

Colby Parks, a biochemist at the local university, had come to town a year earlier to escape an abusive relationship. She vows never to put herself in that situation again.

Then the perfect opportunity comes along: house-sitting for Mace’s sister while making the house she purchased habitable. But she couldn’t anticipate this big snag: the one wearing the tight Levi’s and worn leather jacket, looking like he had just escaped prison.

Being forced to share a house creates sparks between them in more ways than one. However, things take a turn when their pasts catch up to them, threatening to pull them apart forever.

Deliverance by Aleksandr Voinov
William Raven of Kent joined the Knights Templar to do penance for his sins. Formerly a professional tournament fighter and mercenary, William is brought face-to-face with a past he'd thought he had escaped.

From Stormy Glenn's My Outlaw:
Texas, 1880
“Are you traveling far, sir?”
Daniel Branson glanced across the dusty stagecoach to the young woman sitting across from him. He smiled at her and shook his head. “No, ma’am, I’ll be getting off at Brownsville.”
“You have family in Brownsville?”
Daniel nodded. “You could say that, ma’am.”
The woman glanced at the older gentleman who seemed to be sleeping beside her. Daniel didn’t understand how anyone could sleep through such a rough ride. Every few minutes, the stage coach hit a rut or a pothole and lurched from side to side. His ass felt like it had been dragged through a pile of cactus brush.
“Do you know any outlaws?” she whispered as she glanced over at Daniel again.
He chuckled. “I haven’t met any personally but I hear Black Bart and his gang hole up out this way.”
“Black Bart?” The woman gasped, her eyes widening. “Is he an outlaw?”
“One of the worst, ma’am.” Daniel leaned forward a little. “Why, I hear he’d just as soon shoot you as look at you.”
“And he’s in Brownsville?” the woman asked, a hand covering her mouth and her eyes growing wide.
Daniel shrugged, sitting back in the seat. “I can’t rightly say, ma’am, but I’ve heard a lot of tales about Black Bart since I entered the territory.”
Daniel glanced out the small side window as the woman’s face paled. He could tell from her manners and dress that she had never set foot west of the Mississippi River. He’d wager she was from way back east, maybe even as far as Boston.
He wished the best for her. The west could be an unforgiving place for people not prepared for the rough, harsh realities of life in the uncivilized territories. Many didn’t make it through their first winter before high-tailing it back to civilization.
“You don’t think he’s around here now, do you?”
Daniel turned his attention back to the young woman. He felt a little bad that he had worried her but not enough to take back what he had said about Black Bart. Most of the people he had met on his travels west had no business being out here. He wished they would all just turn around and go back home.
The west was no longer built on dreams from the 1849 gold rush. It was made with the blood and sweat of cowboys and ranchers and settlers strong enough to fight tooth and nail for every inch of land they could dig out of the cold, hard earth.
“No, ma’am, I’m sure he’s moved on to some other area.”
“How can you be sure?”
“Brownsville isn’t a big place. It’s mostly ranchers, some townspeople, and a few outlying farms. I don’t imagine there’s a lot to keep any outlaw in the area for too long a spell.”
The woman seemed to regard Daniel for so long he began to grow uncomfortable. He tried not to fidget, clasping his hands together in his lap to keep from pulling at the collar of his white woolen shirt or the blue bandana tied around his neck.
“If there’s not much in Brownsville, why do you stay there?” the woman finally asked. Daniel could see the curiosity covering her pert little face. Underlying that was a spark of interest he would rather ignore.
“I live just outside of Brownsville, ma’am,” he replied. “I was point rider on a herd of cattle we drove up the Chisholm Trail to Abilene. My horse stepped in a prairie dog hole on the way back, just outside of town, and I had to put him down. I injured my ankle when my horse fell. Cattle boss told me to catch the stage back to the ranch.”
“Oh, I’m so sorry,” the woman said quietly. Daniel could see the sympathy in her face, hear it in her voice. Even a woman from back east knew the heartache a cowboy felt when they lost a horse, especially a cattle cutting pony. It took years to train an animal to work cattle the way Stickler had. He’d missed that damn peg pony.
When the young woman glanced at the man beside her again then smiled over at him, Daniel’s stomach fell to his feet. He had seen that particular look on enough female faces to know that the flirting was about to begin.
Before he could dissuade her, a loud gunshot sounded outside and the stagecoach jerked to a stop. Daniel leaned out of the side window to see what was going on. His heart pounded frantically when he spotted the five masked men surrounding the stagecoach, their guns drawn.
“What is it?”
Daniel turned to see the young woman had gone as pale as Texas butter. The older man next to her still slept. Daniel held his fingers to his lips and glanced back out the window.
He grimaced as the shotgun rider tossed his rifle to the ground and climbed from his seat. The stagecoach driver followed behind him. They both immediately held their hands up in the air and moved off to one side of the stagecoach. This was not good.

WOLF QUEEN

Katia has loved Mikhail Nikolaevich forever. When her father dies, she goes to Mikhail for solace. Afterward, believing Mikhail doesn't truly care for her, Katia flees. By then, it's too late. The mating heat has started and must be completed or Katia will die.

But Mikhail is not all he seems. He's a Kindred and he's determined to have Katia as his mate. But first, he has to convince Katia that he does love her. That's easier said than done when Katia learns about the Kindred and that the man she loves turns into a werewolf. It's also complicated by the fact that Mikhail is leader of his people.
Mikhail has to defend Katia against a Council of Elders who believe she's an inferior human, and a band of rogue werewolves is out to kill them all. Can Mikhail save his bondmate before she gets challenged again, or will Katia have to fight for her life?

STORY EXCERPT
It was an obsession. She was an obsession. He had to find her. He had to have her, to posses her, to dominate her. She was his. And no one, not even she, would tell him no.

Mikhail Nikolaevich lifted his face into the passing wind, sniffing the frosty air. There was a variance of smells combined in the breeze, but he could easily pick out her personal fragrance. It smelled soft and musty like wild flowers and summer rain.

It was a seductive aroma. The mere hint of her scent made his cock harden with each breath that he took. She had quickly become an addiction many months ago, an addiction that he was not unwilling to feed. And feed it he would.

Jumping down from his crouched position on top of the cement steps leading down into the city park, Mikhail briskly started walking through the manicured grounds. He had been tormenting himself for two days now. It had taken him three days just to find his prey. He knew he could have taken her that first night when he had first caught her scent. She would be easy prey, walking alone through the park as she was.

But he wanted to draw his torture out, to relish in its wicked pleasure. It made the hunt all the more entertaining. He had possessed her once, and he would possess her again. It made his wait all the more sweet. Mikhail ran his tongue over his slightly distended teeth. He would not be able to put off claiming her too much longer. He could feel his tense control slowly slipping away. The beast within wanted out.

His lips twisted in a cynical smirk as he admitted he would miss the chase. It had been gratifying. She had known almost immediately that someone, or something, had been stalking her. He had felt her fear and her determination to escape him. He chuckled at her efforts to evade him, almost as if she had a choice.

He also knew she was aware of him, aware that he had come for her. While joined bondmates were always aware of their consorts, he had been a little surprised that she had picked up on his presence so quickly. That usually did not happen until after the joining. It had just made him all the more certain that she was the one he had been searching for.

Mikhail lifted his face into the cold breeze once more, inhaling her scent. She was nearby, here, in the park. He could feel her, her essence, her very heart beating. And it was beating very fast, almost too fast. Mikhail's smile was one of satisfaction, knowing that she felt his presence, and that he unnerved her.

It was not necessarily a bad thing for his bondmate to be a little afraid her Cadre. It would make her obedience more certain. As the Cadre male of his clan, obedience from his bondmate was imperative. It kept him from hurting her during the seeking or the joining, or both.

Mikhail quickened his pace down the cement walkway that wound through the park. Tonight was the night. Tonight, she would finally be his. He could feel the beast within him stirring for the hunt. His blood started to heat up in anticipation of the prize he was about to seize. His teeth ached, wanting to sink into her soft flesh. He could feel blood lust coursing through his veins. Soon, very soon, she would be his again.

Mikhail's pace was fast now, his feet barely touching the hard ground below him as he zeroed in on her. He caught a glimpse of her up ahead of him. She was walking as fast as she could without actually running. He could feel her body tighten in anticipation of an attack. She definitely knew he was here.

Again, a streak of satisfaction ran through his body at the thought that she was already aware of him, even before their eventual joining. It gratified him that her abilities were so strong. He knew she would make a good bondmate for a Cadre when he had chosen her.

The smile on Mikhail's lips quickly turned into a snarl as he felt her fear turn to total terror. Something was wrong. The fear she felt was way beyond what woman should feel when her bondmate was nearby.

Mikhail increased his speed until he was mere feet from his prey. He sensed the pulse on her neck hasten in fright. It was beating fast. Normally, he would be happy he could quicken her blood like this. But he immediately knew he did not cause this. Something, or someone, was after her besides him. They were not alone.

Clearing his mind of the lust that filled him, Mikhail sensed the presence of three human males. He could feel the evil emanating from them. They were up to no good. And they were after that which Mikhail considered his. Mikhail felt the beast inside of him seethe with anger as he attempted to hold it in. It wanted blood.
