Words of Wisdom

I get a lot of emails and messages from people wanting to get into the writing business or just getting into it. Most just want a little advice on where to go or what to do once they sign that first contract. Recently, one author summed it up perfectly for me… for the wisdom of Tara Rose and Heather Rainer...
*Keep writing the next book.

*Improve your writing with each book.

*Understand that everyone has an opinion and it might not always be the
same as yours.

*Play nice on Facebook and Twitter.

*Don't spam people with promo.

*Take time to build and nurture relationships with readers AND authors
online.

*Publicly thank others when they pimp your release or host you on their
blog or website.

*Practice safe karma.

*Engage your readers and other authors in conversation about stuff beside
your books.

*Don't think of it as “marketing” but rather as forging friendships and
bonds - just like you would do in real life.

*We all get negative reviews from time to time. Learn from them or rise above them but never whine about them.

*Most of all, have fun and enjoy the journey.
