First,
you'll need to add BookStrand.com to your list of approved email addresses on
your Kindle. Please note that Amazon charges a small fee for this
(generally 15 - 25 cents). To do this:
- Log onto your Amazon.com
account and select Manage Your Kindle.
- In the left hand
navigation pane, select Personal Document Settings.
- Click on Add a new
approved e-mail address. Type in @bookstrand.com
- Click Add Address.
Next,
you'll need to add your Kindle address to your BookStrand.com account. To do
this:
- Log onto to
BookStrand.com with your user account information.
- Hover on your account
name in the upper right-hand corner (next to the shopping cart), and
select Account Settings tab.
- Under Kindle Address,
enter the Kindle address assigned to your Kindle device (i.e.,
sarah.customer@kindle.com).
- Click Save Changes.
Then
just purchase a book at BookStrand.com and click the Send to Kindle icon
that is located next to the title in your bookshelf. Make sure your Kindle has
a good wireless signal or else your books will not transfer.
Note
that following these instructions will send a MOBI file to your Kindle
wirelessly. If a MOBI is not available, a PRC or PDF will be sent. Please note
a PDF is a less desirable format for your Kindle.
Send eBooks Using a USB Cord
- Purchase a book from
BookStrand.com using your computer and save it locally.
- Connect your Kindle to
your computer using your USB cord. Your Kindle will go into USB drive mode
and you won't be able to use the device. Your wireless service is
temporarily shut off and you will not receive any of your subscriptions
while in this mode.
- Your computer will
recognize that the device is attached, and it should be listed as a drive
under My Computer, or if you are using a Mac, on the desktop.
Double click on the Kindle drive to open it.
- There should be a folder
inside the Kindle drive called documents. Drag your book files from
their location on your computer to the documents folder. Close both
folders and disconnect your device.
You can easily
look up your Kindle address by logging on to Amazon.com and selecting Manage
Your Kindle. Click on Manage Your Devices. Your Kindle address will
always end in “@kindle.com”.
You
can also locate the Kindle address right from your Kindle's home screen. Select
the Menu button and then select Settings. Your Kindle's address
will be listed under Device E-mail.
Additionally,
you can locate your Kindle address on your Kindle Fire by following
these steps:
Turn
on your Kindle Fire and navigate to the Home screen. Tap on the Quick
Settings icon.
Tap
on My Account. Your Kindle address will be listed under the registered
user's name. Your Kindle address will always end in “@kindle.com”.
